Support Workers

Braemar Presbyterian Care is a not for profit organization providing a High Care facility and secure Dementia unit in East Fremantle and two Low Care sites, in Bicton and Willagee. Reporting to the Residential Care Manager, you will be a forward-thinking, hands-on individual, keen to enhance the lives of our residents.

Support Workers are employed to work in the key areas of Kitchen, Laundry and Cleaning, and are often skilled across each of these areas.

The Role

• Perform cleaning and/or Laundry and/or kitchen duties to compliment resident care services
• Implement infection control principles in area of responsibility
• Maintain clean working environments ensuring cleaning schedules are maintained
• Apply hygienic work practices in area of responsibility
• Follow OS&H procedures, policies and practices
• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives

The Attributes

• Willingness to embrace the Christian principles of Braemar Presbyterian Care
• Previous experience in delivery of kitchen/cleaning/laundry services in an aged care or similar environment
• Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understanding
• Ability and willingness to follow written and verbal instructions and complete busy workload
• Current Federal Police Clearance
