Carer Level 1

Carer Level 1 is for those employees with less than 1664 hours of previous experience in a similar role.

An employee at this level will have obtained or be working towards obtaining a Certificate III in Aged Care.

An employee at this level will be required to develop competencies to undertake:

• Documentation
• Basic wound management
• Medication administration

The Attributes

• Willingness to embrace the Christian principles of Braemar Presbyterian Care
• Well developed verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret and write clear and concise reports
• Ability and willingness to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to complete busy workload and work within set standards, protocols and time-frames
• Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understanding
• Current Federal Police Clearance
• Posses or be working toward obtaining Certificate III in Aged Care

Desirable

• Developing knowledge and understanding of the needs of the elderly
